avoid travel to Bangkok

I am a firsthand observer having been to Bangkok for a week, I would like to share my observations. 1. The govt brainwash people through the media, they twist facts example Abhjisit keeps blaming terrorists for the April 10 killings. The decision to push the protesters was his alone. They claim that tourists arrival dropped to 30% i.e. 70% didn’t come, When I was travelling to Bangkok despite the travel warning less than 5% of passengers didn’t show up. In fact before the soldiers came the protest site was peaceful and the red shirts, know we were tourists treated us with kindness and hospitality. When the soldiers came they were fully armed made walking difficult, we have to take a long cut at Sala Deng because of barb wires. The air was tense and scary, that’s when we decided to LEAVE. It was the presence of soldiers. 2, The media distort facts. Numbers, anti govt protesters are always ridiculed by press like" the leaders didn’t get enough protesters only 65,000 are at the demonstration sites", Then pro govt protesters when filmed just a few meters pan of the 2 or 3 row thick of people and camera is from low angle, to make it look like thousands I wish I can post photos, have ariel shots showing about 100 pro govt people with a banner like, “We ALREADY have democracy”. Then there were people passing out small thai flags so in this way passer-bys are unwittingly demonstrators and they don’t report that these demonstrators will assemble only for a few hours I was told from 4 to 6 pm. but some antigovt people stay all day and night the rest take turns with their wives and friends. So 65,000 people x 24 hrs representing the population said there is no Democracy the other side 100 people x 2 hrs said that Thailand already has democracy. But the media tries to make these 2 look balance. 3, The army intends to harm the protestors badly. All the soldiers and police personnel are in full gear, helmet, tall polycarbonate shields, boots, bullet proof vests and armed with Heckler & Koch G3A4, M16, or shot guns. I also observed that those with shot guns also carried in ammunition belts 1/2" - 3/4" lead fishing weights in plastic containers, What I assume is that these would be front loaded and will be fired off. Suffice to say that it will maim or kill. The protesters are dressed in civilian clothes and many are women young and old. These soldiers are sissies complaining that the protester have dangerous weapons like sharpened bamboo poles hence they have the right to use live rounds. 4. I hope that the outside world will do something unlike useless UN. from Sudan to Rwanda UN put its hands in the pockets and watched. Whatever it is, I came back home grateful to have peace and an appreciation how much people will give for democracy and freedom, the brave antigovt protesters have won my heart. And I wonder how can a so called legitimate govt claim to have the right to use force when they to get into power with only 5000 sat in the airport for a week and no one got scratched, Unfortunately the human body is much weaker than their minds, and sadly many more are going to die for what they believe is justice.
